Soweto Fashion Week is back. Fresh off a landmark Autumn/Winter season, SFW returns for Spring/Summer 2026 from 5 to 7 November at Soweto Theatre in Jabulani, with three nights that put emerging designers and established names from across the country on one stage.
Spring/Summer has a rhythm of its own. Palettes open up, and designers lean into movement, print and colour. This season also lands at a moment when South African fashion is stepping onto a bigger stage, with local designers gaining international recognition and demand for homegrown creativity stronger than ever. The mission, in SFW’s words, is to show what South African fashion looks like when it has room to speak for itself.

Night one: the Emerging Designers Bloc
Opening night is a first look at the faces shaping the future of South African design. Nine emerging designers take to the runway, among them RFL Studios, Zimisele and Shirley Joseph, with fashion students from the University of Johannesburg and Tshwane University of Technology also presenting during the season.
Night two: Mbobo Movement steps up
One of the stories of the season is Luthando Mbobo. His patchwork and denim brand, Mbobo Movement, made its SFW debut in the Autumn/Winter 2026 emerging designers bloc. This time it is on the main show.
“Expect bold colours, a real celebration of who we are as South Africans, and a collection that carries stories you can feel.”
“Since last year’s show, Mbobo Movement picked up a nomination for Best Emerging Fashion Designer at the South Africa Fashion Awards and we took the brand into children’s fashion at SA Kids Fashion Week,” he says. “A lot has happened. This spring, we are bringing all of that to the main stage.” The night also features Precious Lulu Couture and the KwaZulu Fashion Hut, Originally Kasified and more.
Night three: where fashion meets the arts
The final night closes the season with a lineup that brings fashion and the arts together. Television presenter Ayanda Nhlapo brings her brand, House of Ayanda, to the runway, and Afro-soul and R&B singer Wanda Baloyi presents Wanda Wear by Wanda Baloyi. Also showing: Hoss by Sass by Sanele Thabethe, Dope Store and more.
Founded in 2011, Soweto Fashion Week has grown from a bold idea into one of South Africa’s most significant fashion platforms, launching careers, building industry connections and placing South African design on the international map. It is also South Africa’s representative to the BRICS International Fashion Federation.

Tickets are available on Webtickets, from R150.
